Who we are
DENISE is a Dutch primary and secondary school for Amsterdam-based students, newcomers, and international learners aged 4 to 18. We currently serve over 1.000 students. Our team consists of approximately 120 skilled and dedicated teachers and support staff.
Our curriculum is guided by IPC, IMYC, and the IBDP. We are proud to hold the designation of Language-Friendly School and are accredited as an IB World School. In addition to the Dutch MAVO and HAVO diploma programmes, we offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme. The IBDP is an English-language programme comparable to the Dutch VWO level.
About you
- You have experience supporting practical lessons and laboratory work in Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and related science subjects
- You enjoy working with a diverse student population and are able to guide students in a positive and approachable manner
- You are interested in innovative, inquiry-based, and interdisciplinary science education
- You are well-organised, able to work independently and accurately, and have a strong awareness of safety procedures in laboratories and learning spaces
- You speak English fluently and it would be a plus if you speak Dutch, but this is not necessary
What will you do
- Support students and teachers within the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP)
- Prepare practical lessons, demonstrations, research activities and assist teachers in their implementation
- Guide students during practicals, projects, extended essays, and independent research, supporting them in planning, conducting and evaluating their investigations
- Contribute to the development of inspiring and safe learning environments where students can actively experiment, explore and discover
- Manage laboratory equipment, chemicals, consumables, and workspaces, including inventory management, purchasing, maintenance and replacement of materials
- Monitor safety standards within the laboratories and advise colleagues on the safe use of materials and equipment

- A gross monthly salary between €2.672,- and €3.610,- (salary scale 6, based on a full-time appointment; placement depends on experience)
